Whispers from the Tent
Observations about the Arabian from Captain Roger Upton, circa 1874.
"There is nothing more beautiful in the world than the Arabian horse, be it on account of the perfect symmetry of its form or of the nobility of its carriage. Its confirmation is so ideal that there is no spare nor waste; everything about it serves a purpose. Its space is just right; all the rest of the body is geared exclusively to motion. Nature, that never-erring artist has, when designing the Arabian Horse, not made a single mistake; and man, for his part, has not had the occasion to spoil this work of art."
